OPERATING MANAGER

PatoGen is seeking a highly motivated Operating Manager to our new PCR Laboratory in Malin House, Oban.

The Operating Manager will work at our state-of-the-art Real Time PCR Laboratory in Malin House, Oban. You will be part of PatoGen's committed and competent Laboratory Department, with headquarters in Ålesund, Norway. The rest of the Laboratory Management is based in Ålesund.

Operating Manager will have full responsibility for daily operations and Laboratory Employee(s) in Oban, and answer to Laboratory Manager in Ålesund.

This is a unique opportunity to be the first employee of this exciting journey, to join our highly collegial and collaborative team in Norway as we establish our first abroad Laboratory.

Desired qualifications and background:

  • Experience in leading and inspiring other people
  • Highly structured and organized
  • Formal competence with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in biotechnology, biology, or educated as a Biomedical Laboratory Scientist
  • Experience with Laboratory work
  • Trustworthy and responsible
  • In possession of working after established procedures
  • Motivated by PatoGen`s company strategy and goals
  • Good oral and written communication skills

We can offer practical laboratory skills in sample reception of fish samples, robotic extraction and PCR setup, verification and quality control, in a small, but high automated and newly equipped laboratory.

Starting from August or early September. Training will be provided by an internal project employee from PatoGen who will live and work in Oban during the new Laboratory start-up. If possible, parts of the training will take place in Ålesund with yearly visits and competence exchange in the headquarter laboratory in Ålesund.

Some shift work and overtime will be required during high season, under validation and start-up period.

The Laboratory Employee will work at our state-of-the-art Real Time PCR Laboratory in Malin House, Oban. You will be part of PatoGen's committed and competent Laboratory Department, with headquarters in Ålesund, Norway. The Laboratory Manager and Laboratory Director are based in Ålesund.

Desired qualifications and background:

  • Formal competence with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in biotechnology, biology, or educated as a Biomedical Laboratory Scientist
  • Experience with Laboratory work is an advantage
  • Trustworthy and responsible
